Fan Starts $40,000 Fire
A fire started by a faulty electric fan caused $40,000 in damage to a Camarillo duplex Monday, the Ventura County Fire Department reported.
The fire in the 700 block of Hillcrest Drive started at 7 p.m. and was put out about 20 minutes later, said Fire Department dispatcher Lisa Hines. There were no injuries.
