Foust’s Team Wins Low Gross in Pro-Am at Los Coyotes
In one of the preliminary events leading up to the LPGA’s Nippon Travel-MSB golf tournament, Nina Foust and her amateur partners won a pro-am Monday at Los Coyotes Country Club in Buena Park.
Eighteen teams competed in the event.
Foust’s team, which included Candy Meyers, Jane Booth, Diane Madden and Jane Gurley, won with a low gross score of 58.
The low net score, figured with handicaps, was achieved by the team of Kate Rogerson, Diana Neff, Bel Latham, Joanne Mahr and Zia Bohen, who combined for a 53.
The tournament, an inaugural 72-hole event, will begin Thursday with 163 players competing for $300,000. The winner will receive $45,000.
