Lifter’s Doping Test Bad for What Ales Him

ATHENS —
Mohammad Mazel of Iraq, who finished eighth in the middle-heavyweight division of the World and European weightlifting championships here, has been disqualified for cheating at the doping control.
Mazel, who was drawn at random to undergo a test, replaced his urine sample with beer, Wolfgang Peter, the International Weightlifting Federation delegate in charge of drug-testing, said Friday.
