Dinkins Shaken Up After Car Accident in New York

Mayoral candidate David N. Dinkins was shaken up but not seriously injured after he was involved in an auto accident en route to a campaign appearance Sunday, an aide said.

“Basically it was a bump on the head,” said Stanley Davis, deputy press secretary for Dinkins, who is Manhattan borough president. Dinkins and three others were riding in a car that was broadsided by another auto. Dinkins was the winner of the Democratic mayoral primary this month.
