Police arrested two Pomona teen-agers in the slayings of three young men who were shot to death early Sunday morning as they walked home from a convenience store.
A Pomona police spokesman said Joseph Lara, 18, was taken into custody Sunday night and a 17-year-old boy was arrested Monday and booked for investigation of murder in the killings of Cornelio Perez Ruiz, 18, Vincent Salazar, 20, and Eduardo Cruz, 17.
A third suspect, also 17, is still at large, police said.
The victims were shot outside Perez’s home on Lee Place about 2 a.m. Sunday after an argument with three to six men at the store, Sgt. Thomas Andrew said. The assailants, driving by in a small truck, opened fire with pistols and a semiautomatic rifle.
