Colts’ Chandler to Have Surgery on Knee, May Miss Rest of Season
Quarterback Chris Chandler of the Indianapolis Colts will have knee surgery Monday and probably miss the rest of the season.
Chandler injured his left knee on a nine-yard run in the third quarter of Sunday’s 13-9 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. His injury was diagnosed as a torn ligament.
It is the fourth time in as many years that the Colts have lost their starting quarterback with a serious injury before the fourth game of the season.
Chandler, from the University of Washington, will be replaced by Jack Trudeau for Sunday’s game at the Meadowlands against the New York Jets.
Eric Dickerson, the Colts’ star running back, suffered a hamstring injury against Atlanta, but he is expected to play Sunday.
