Barefoot place kicker Rich Karlis, who played seven years with the Denver Broncos before being released last month, today signed a one-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings and will play against Tampa Bay on Sunday.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Karlis lost the kicking job in Denver after holding out in training camp. He wanted a raise from his 1987 base salary of $300,000, but the Broncos refused.
