ST. LOUIS —
St. Louis Cardinals Hall of Famer Stan Musial is recovering from surgery to remove a malignancy from his prostate gland.
The operation was performed two weeks ago at Barnes Hospital, Musial said Wednesday.
“The prognosis is good,” he said. “I’m still a little weak but feel fine.”
Musial, 68, won seven National League batting titles and three Most Valuable Player awards. He was a first-ballot Hall of Fame selection in 1969.
