Robert C. Dunek, former executive director of the Orange County division of the League of California Cities, takes office Monday as the new Los Alamitos city manager and city clerk. Dunek, 38, has also worked as a senior administrative assistant in Garden Grove and as a police officer in Buena Park. He lives in Irvine.
Since 1984, Dunek has worked as executive director for the league, analyzing problems of regional concern and helping to build a consensus among the Orange County cities and the county government. He assisted in getting unanimous approval by the cities for a countywide transportation and growth management plan.
