Rancho P.V. to Develop Park in Eastview
Rancho Palos Verdes will develop a 10-acre park in Eastview on land leased from the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County. The park, on Westmont Drive just east of Western Avenue, will open next July 1, according to city Recreation and Parks Director Mary E. Thomas.
Thomas said the park will include a jogging path, picnic facilities, a children’s playground, restrooms and parking for 30 cars. Landscaping will emphasize low-maintenance grass, shrubs and blooming plants.
The site has been leased by the city for $1,200 a year from the sanitation districts under a 30-year lease, which may be extended for an additional 20 years. The city will spend $500,000 to develop the park.
