Natural Gas Pacts Announced: Developers of two competing natural gas pipeline projects into California both announced new contracts for gas transportation. Kern River Gas Transmission Co., which is proposing a 902-mile pipeline from Wyoming to Kern County, said it signed an agreement with Shell Western E & P Inc. to transport 100 million cubic feet of gas per day for at least 15 years. Earlier in the week, the competing Wy-Cal Pipeline Co., which is proposing its own 1,000-mile Wyoming-to-California pipeline, said it had signed an agreement with Southwest Gas Corp. of Las Vegas to transport 200 million cubic feet of gas per day for 15 years.
