Here we go again. The minute a black is put into a leadership position with a Los Angeles sports franchise, Bob Oates comes screaming out of his closet about what a mistake it is.
In his commentary on Art Shell’s ascent to head coach of the Raiders, Oates immediately compares Shell to the black managers in baseball, thereby insinuating that Shell’s color was the only reason he obtained the position.
Shell was appointed because of his longtime service to the Raiders and his knowledge of the game. He has earned the right to be an NFL head coach.
