Two Sports May Be One Too Many, Even for Bo
It’s nice to have a star like Bo Jackson who is so outgoing and friendly, instead of the usually brooding and egotistical type we often see.
Bo surely does everything well, but he does need help in the grammar department. Chris Baker quotes him saying, “One man don’t make a team . . . “ Bo seems to be a pretty conservative guy and hasn’t flaunted his wealth the way so many stars do. Why can’t he budget a wee bit for a grammar coach?
Bo went to Auburn, which is no bastion of the English language. Most football powers’ handling of grammar is in inverse order to their standing in the top 20 each week. Maybe Notre Dame is the exception.
Why can’t pro sports leagues have resident grammarians to give everyone a chance to improve his ability to communicate. Heaven’s sake, that’s what it’s all about.
