Passes in Europe
The note from Peter Groen about the Rail Europ Senior train pass in Travel Tips (Sept. 24) could mislead your readers. Rail Europ Senior can be purchased only in Europe and only by people who prove they are permanent residents of one of the issuing countries.
Anyone relying on this item and who forgoes buying a Eurailpass or any of the several passes sold in the United States by many European countries will discover too late (after arriving in Europe, where the other passes cannot be purchased) that he or she is ineligible to buy Rail Europe Senior.
