Viacom International Inc.: The New York-based communications and entertainment company lost $21.7 million during the third quarter, compared to a loss of $56.9 million in the 1988 period. Revenue was $345.5 million, an 11% increase. The firm said revenue from its networks segment, including MTV and Showtime, increased 17%; it said it has restructured its bank debt under a new $1.5-billion unsecured agreement that will save substantial interest.
