CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : RIPON : Officer, Suspect Killed in Drug Raid

A San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputy was shot to death during a drug raid early Friday, while other officers killed the alleged assailant. Deputy Dighton Little, 35, was declared dead shortly before noon from a gunshot wound to the head he received as officers armed with a warrant entered a house trailer at Ripon, officials said. The name of the assailant was not released.
