USD Pitcher Released From Hospital
Adam Schwindt, a University of San Diego pitcher that had been in a coma after being struck in the head by a line drive, was released from Sharp Memorial Hospital on Friday.
Listed in critical condition after undergoing surgery Sept. 23 to reduce a swelling blood clot, Schwindt, 20, remained in a coma for 10 days before awakening.
His recovery time was at least four weeks shorter than doctors had first diagnosed.
