The Athletics Congress will hold new hearings...
The Athletics Congress will hold new hearings Jan. 8 concerning Chuck DeBus, a Los Angeles-area coach accused of providing steroids to athletes.
The decision will permit TAC, the U.S. governing body for track and field, to present three new affidavits accusing DeBus of promoting, selling and distributing steroids.
TAC announced on Sept. 20 that it had reached an agreement with DeBus in which he would resign from coaching for two years but admit no wrongdoing.
But the agreement was announced prematurely--it did not have the necessary signatures--and created a furor among athletes, who called for TAC to take a harder line on the case. The hearing will be in the L.A. area.
