Winning Colors struggled to a fourth-place finish in the $156,500 Aqueduct Budweiser Breeders’ Cup Handicap for fillies and mares 3 and up, as Wakonda, ridden by Angel Cordero Jr., gained a four-length victory.
Foresta, with Julie Krone aboard, finished second, 1 1/2 lengths ahead of Toll Free, who was another 2 3/4 lengths in front of Winning Colors.
Cordero also rode Dispersal to a nose victory in the $581,000 New York Racing Assn. Mile at Aqueduct.
