A four-foot-tall cross was burned on the lawn and BB gun pellets were fired at the home of a Chinese-American family in Arcadia, police said Monday. No one was injured in the incident, which occurred Saturday night or Sunday morning.

“We feel worried of course,” said homeowner Ted Chiang. “We don’t know whether it was racial.”

Chiang said his family discovered the pellet holes in their living room window and the cross Sunday morning.

At least one other house in the Norman Avenue neighborhood has had BB gun pellets fired at it recently, he said. The neighborhood is mainly Anglo, with at least two Asian families, he said.

Arcadia Police Lt. Don Glenn said there are no suspects but added that “it sounds more like a juvenile prank than anything else.”
