Measure M’s Impact on County’s Traffic, Taxes

Share

Regarding handicapped and senior-citizen fares in the Measure M ballot proposal: Right now, the handicapped get a fare break during non-peak hours only because of a state law enacted in 1988.

I’m a handicapped person, a taxpayer and a voter. Will the handicapped get no fare break or pay an equal amount as senior citizens? My question is: If Measure M passes, will the handicapped and senior citizens pay the same fares or will the senior citizens still get the fare break? If policy stays as it is now, the handicapped will still be treated like second-class citizens.

I would like to have the Orange County Transportation Commission respond publicly on the fare policy for handicapped and senior citizens.
