Man Dies After Stabbing in Lot

A 25-year-old National City man was fatally stabbed Friday outside a Chula Vista apartment complex, police said Saturday.
Gary Sturgess was found in the parking lot behind the complex, rushed to Scripps Memorial Hospital in Chula Vista, then to the UC San Diego Medical Center, where he died, Chula Vista officers said.
Officers said they found Sturgess at 6:24 p.m. after responding to reports of a fight in the parking lot. Two men were arrested in the parking lot, but police declined to comment on their connection, if any, to the stabbing.
