Kulti, Hiraki Win Junior Tennis Titles

FUJISAWA, Japan — Top-seeded Nicklas Kulti of Sweden won the boy’s singles title and Japan’s Rika Hiraki took the girl’s crown Sunday in the JAL Super Junior Tennis Championships.
Kulti lost the first set, but rallied to beat second-seeded Tommy Ho of the United States, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Hiraki, the second seed, upset Petra Ritter of Austria, 6-2, 6-4.
Kulti then teammed with Sweden’s Douglas Geiwald and beat India’s Leander Paes and New Zealand’s Alistair Hunt, 6-3, 6-4, to win the boy’s doubles title.
Hiraki teamed up with Ritter and defeated the Czechoslovakia’s Andrea Strnadova and Karina Habsudova, 6-4, 6-4, to win the girl’s doubles.
