LOCAL : Sun Valley Accident Victim Dies

A 35-year-old woman who was burned in a single-car accident in Sun Valley died this morning of her injuries, Los Angeles police reported.

The woman, whose name was not released pending notification of her family, was driving west on Glenoaks Boulevard near Randall Street at 10:30 p.m. Monday when her car swerved off the road and struck a utility pole, Officer Ed Burns said. The car burst into flames and the woman suffered third-degree burns over most of her body. She was taken to Pacifica Hospital of the Valley where she died about two hours later, officials said. The accident is under investigation, Burns said.
