A fire that burned for more than 90 minutes Tuesday caused $350,000 in damage to a house in Thousand Oaks, the Ventura County Fire Department reported.

The blaze in the 1300 block of Lamont Avenue may have been started by an improperly vented dryer, dispatcher Vicki Crabtree said. No injuries from the fire were reported.

Firefighters thought that the blaze was under control about 40 minutes after it started about 2:40 p.m., but flames had spread undetected to the attic, Crabtree said. A second alarm was reported, and the fire was finally contained at 4:12 p.m., she said.
