ORANGE : Morick Withdraws From Schools Race

Share

Kenneth F. Morick, a candidate for the Orange Unified School District board, announced Wednesday that he is dropping out of the race.

Morick, 57, is an employee of Hughes Aircraft Co., which recently announced layoffs. Morrick was among those asked to retire or face being laid off.

“It looks like I’m going to be out of a job in a couple of weeks,” Morick said, “so I thought maybe I should be looking for a job, not running for the school board.”

Morick’s withdrawal leaves two candidates for the school district’s Area 3 seat in the Nov. 7 election. They are Jane McCracken, the incumbent, and challenger Nancy L. Moore.

Morick said he does not intend to endorse either of the remaining candidates.
