Top Cash Wins Feature at Santa Anita
Top Cash led the entire race, edging favorite Drag Race in the $109,450 Desert Wine Sales Stakes Wednesday at Santa Anita.
Laffit Pincay took Top Cash to the lead out of the gate, staying slightly ahead of Alycastle through the stretch and closed to win by 1 1/4 lengths.
Drag Race, the Del Mar Futurity winner with Gary Stevens aboard, finished a neck ahead of Kept His Cool, a 15-1 shot.
Top Cash, trained by Wayne Lukas, returned $10,20, $3.60 and $2.60 in getting his second win in three career starts. Drag Race paid $2.60 and $2.40, and Kept His Cool returned $3.40 under Rafael Meza.
