Wayne Gretzky, who became the National Hockey League’s all-time scoring leader in October, set yet another record when he was named the league’s player of the month for an unprecedented 24th time. Gretzky had 26 points in October, scoring in 11 of the Kings’ 13 games. He had four three-point games and, on Oct. 31. against the Pittsburgh Penguins, a six-point game. He scored three goals in that game, the 46th three-goal game of his career.
