The final date to submit a poster is next Friday.

Participants are to prepare a poster that answers the question “How do we stop AIDS?” and mail it to AIDS Poster Contest, Cal State Fullerton, Fullerton, Calif. 92634. Winners will be announced later this month, and prizes will be awarded. Posters will be displayed at the Cal State Fullerton Museum Center on World AIDS Day, Dec. 1.

Parents, teachers, youth leaders and teen-agers are encouraged to visit their library or contact the Red Cross for contest rules and entry forms. For more information, call the Red Cross at (714) 835-5381, Ext. 263.

Students and faculty members at Corona del Mar High School have raised $1,600 for the victims of Hurricane Hugo through a money drive sponsored by the Red Cross. Members of the campus Red Cross Club, led by adviser Carol Hanke, promoted their cause by using morning P.A. announcements, posters and word of mouth. Dale Ghere’s biology classes alone raised more than $300, and some parents and teachers wrote checks for as much as $100.

It is the hope of the students and Red Cross that the people who receive this money will know that the high school students of Newport Beach understand their plight and are thinking of them in their time of need.
