Weighty Matters: CBS executives are said to be high on a just-completed episode of “Designing Women” that was written in response to a flurry of stories in the tabloid press attacking series star Delta Burke for being overweight. In the segment (slated to air Dec. 11), Burke goes to a high school reunion where she is ridiculed for her avoirdupois and given the award as the person most changed. Though she’s initially hurt, she comes to realize that she really has changed--for the better and she’s happy about her own self image. In real life, Burke has been on a diet to shed some pounds.
