Companies Sign Laser Videodisc Pact: Image Entertainment Inc. said it has acquired the rights to the MCEG catalog in a five-year deal. The agreement also gives Image rights to 150 titles from the Viacom catalog, to which MCEG holds home video rights, and exclusive rights to catalog and future releases under MCEG’s Virgin Vision label. The first films in the deal will be “The Chocolate War” and “Getting It Right,” which will be released by Image in the laser video format in December.
