A federal judge refused to order a Reno sports information service to stop using football forecasts from Jimmy (the Greek) Snyder, who sued the firm in attempts to get paid for his picks.
U.S. District Court Judge Bruce Thompson said that the Baltimore-based company that sells Snyder’s tips used for betting could not show that it was being harmed, or that it would eventually win the pending lawsuit.
Attorney Donald Gish, representing Reno’s Consensus Sports Service, argued that the Greek’s picks aren’t worth protecting because they are often used to place illegal bets.
