Troy Gets Another Shutout, Beating Sonora
Greg Windle passed for 157 yards and two touchdowns Thursday as Troy recorded its third consecutive shutout by beating Sonora, 33-0, in a Freeway League game in front of 300 at La Habra.
Chad Brasington’s three-yard touchdown run with two seconds remaining in the first quarter was all that Troy would need.
Windle fired a 30-yard scoring pass to wide receiver Ryan Russel to give the Warriors (7-3 overall, 4-1 in league) a 13-0 lead after a point-after attempt failed. Windle also completed a 21-yard scoring pass to Chad Hartford with 38 seconds left in the half, with the kick failing again.
Sonora (2-8, 0-5) gained only 91 yards. Troy’s defense held Sonora to just six yards passing.
