Juveniles to Meet in Los Alamitos Race
Flomont, the Ed Burke Memorial Futurity winner, and Way Maker, who won the Dash For Cash Futurity, face off Saturday night in the $448,500 Golden State Futurity at Los Alamitos.
The race is the third meeting of the 2-year-olds, and should decide the juvenile championship of the Horsemen’s Quarter Horse Racing Assn. meeting.
The race has attracted a field of 10. In post position order, they are: Tic Tac Oh with jockey Eddie Garcia; Flomont (James Lackey); Shake Six (Kip Didericksen); The Mogul (James Brooks); On The Hustle (Henry Garcia); Pie Glass (Kenneth Hart); Debonaire Kid (Joe Meier); Way Maker (Danny Cardoza); Sheisabedouin (Ralph Pauline); and American Farmer (Roman Figueroa).
Way Maker is the leading money earner in this field with $348,311. In his 12-race career, he has won four races including the Governor’s Cup Futurity. Flomont has won $220,090 in her 11-race career.
