“Polly,” want a remake?

Keshia Knight Pulliam has the title role in “Polly,” a new two-hour musical adaptation of “Pollyanna,” the 1960 Disney film about a spirited orphan.

Appropriately, the production will be shown on “The Magical World of Disney” from 7 to 9 p.m. on Channels 4, 36 and 39.

With its setting changed from turn-of-the-century New England to Alabama of the 1950s, the cast includes Phylicia Rashad as wealthy spinster Aunt Polly and Celeste Holm as Miss Snow in addition to Brock Peters and Butterfly McQueen, best known for her supporting role in “Gone With the Wind.”
