The City Council on Tuesday will consider a new proposal for the Prospect Street project, where a developer wants to build condominiums and single-family homes on a former gravel pit.
The developer, Orange Homes, has plans for 485 condominiums and 73 houses on the old Conrock gravel pit. The Planning Commission recommended approval of the project.
In July, 1988, the City Council unanimously rejected a proposal by a different developer, Silvercrest Corp., to bring 210 manufactured homes onto the site.
The 70.8-acre site is west of Prospect Street, south of Collins Avenue, east of Santiago Creek and north of Walnut Avenue.
