BERKELEY — Actress Whoopi Goldberg became a grandmother on her own 40th birthday.
Her daughter, Alexandria Martin, gave birth Monday at 7:28 a.m. to a 6-pound, 15-ounce girl at an undisclosed Berkeley hospital, said Brad Cafarelli, Goldberg’s publicist.
Goldberg was at her daughter’s side when Amarah Skye Martin came into the world, Cafarelli said. “They are all doing fine,” he said.
Goldberg, nominated for an Academy Award for her role in “The Color Purple,” recently finished the movie “Ghost” with Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore.
