City’s Building Permits to Be Issued With a Catch
Developers willing to assume all legal liability may apply for building permits from the city of Lawndale while its officials try to resolve a dilemma that has halted major development in the city.
Voters last week invalidated Lawndale’s General Plan, which is required under state law before a city issues building permits. The City Council voted Monday to ask state officials to approve an interim permit process in the South Bay city.
