Stars Honor Sammy Davis

Celebrities hobnobbed backstage at the recent tribute to Sammy Davis Jr. at the Shrine Auditorium, congratulating the performer on his 60th anniversary in show business.
Davis made a brief appearance at a packed backstage party after being honored on stage Monday by Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra and Bill Cosby, among others. Those who turned out included singer/dancer Paula Abdul, left, and heavyweight champ Mike Tyson with singer Dionne Warwick. Other guests included Whitney Houston, Eddie Murphy, Clint Eastwood, Bob Hope, Gregory Hines, and Gregory and Veronique Peck.
The tribute, taped for a later airing on ABC, was also a fund-raiser for the United Negro College Fund.
