Wretham Narrow Winner in Hollywood Park Feature

Favored Wretham beat 6-1 shot J.T.’s Pet by a head in the $45,000 allowance feature Friday for his second U.S. victory, both on the turf at Hollywood Park.

Less than a half-length separated the first four finishers as Master Treaty was a neck back in third and Silver Circus a head back in fourth.

Wretham, ridden by Laffit Pincay, covered the 1 1-16 miles in 1:41 and paid $7, $4.20 and $4.20 as the favorite of the crowd of 16,270.

The 4-year-old gelding from England, trained by Neil Drysdale, won $24,750 for Relatively Stable, pushing his 1989 earnings to $57,600.

J.T.’s Pet, ridden by Eddie Delahoussaye at 116 pounds, one less than the winner, paid $6.20 and $4.20. Master Treaty, with Alex Solis and 115 pounds, paid $7.20.
