THE SIDELINES : Kosar Rests Sore Throwing Arm
Bernie Kosar has a sore throwing arm, and the Cleveland Browns’ backup quarterback, Mike Pagel, took most of the snaps in Tuesday’s practice in preparation for the team’s Thanksgiving Day game at Detroit.
“Bernie’s arm has been bothering him,” Coach Bud Carson said. “It’s not serious. He could have thrown (in practice), but we didn’t want to risk it with the game on Thursday.”
Kosar said his throwing arm was “fine” although he had taken “a couple of hits” in Sunday’s 10-10 tie game with Kansas City.
