Man Dies in Crash North of Newhall
A Green Valley man was the first traffic fatality of the Thanksgiving weekend in Los Angeles.
Kenneth Klemm, 57, lost control of his Datsun on Bouquet Canyon Road north of Newhall shortly after midnight Thursday and plowed into a rocky hillside, said Officer Monty Keifer of the California Highway Patrol.
Klemm died at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital about 2 p.m., Keifer said.
Klemm was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and appeared to have been drinking, according to the CHP report.
The day before the accident was Klemm’s birthday, officers said.
