Reisbig to Coach Final Game for Long Beach
Larry Reisbig will coach his final football game for Cal State Long Beach today at noon when the 49ers play Utah State in a Big West Conference game at Veterans Stadium.
Reisbig, 10-24 in three seasons, announced his resignation on Nov. 9.
The 49ers, 3-8 overall and 1-5 in the Big West, were idle last week. They are led by senior quarterback Paul Oates, who is second in the conference in total offense with 207 yards a game.
Utah State, coming off a 27-22 victory over Nevada Las Vegas, is 4-6 and 4-2. The Aggies need a victory to finish in a second-place tie. In 12 seasons in the Big West, they have never won five conference games.
