Billy Joel’s “Storm Front” remained at No. 2 in the Billboard pop album chart but still has lots of power left--enough perhaps to blast Milli Vanilli’ “Girl You Know It’s True” out of the top spot next week. Joel’s album is getting a boost from his single, “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” which moved up a notch to No. 1 on the pop singles chart. Among albums that haven’t lived up to expectations, Terence Trent D’Arby’s “Neither Fish Nor Flesh” stalled at No. 61 after just three weeks on the pop chart. Phil Collins’ “But Seriously” took a serious leap--from No. 82 to No. 17--in its second chart week.

* Rush albums are commonly preceded by obituaries from critics who predict these veteran hard rockers will have a flop and finally fold. Once again, the burial notices were premature. Rush’s “Presto” rushed up the pop album chart, to No. 22 in just two weeks.
