Arsonist Sought in 25 Reseda Rubbish Fires
Los Angeles Fire Department investigators are looking for an arsonist who they said is responsible for setting as many as 25 small rubbish fires in the Reseda area during the past two days.
About 13 fires were set Sunday evening and 12 more Monday throughout Reseda, said Derek Schew, arson investigator with the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Several of the fires Monday were set in the 8500 and 8600 blocks of Reseda Boulevard, the 18900 block of Napa Street and the intersection of Yolanda Avenue and Keswick Street.
The fires mostly burned trash, trees and, in one instance, part of a garage, Schew said.
“We don’t know what the motive is,” he said.
