Baby Girl Abandoned in Van Nuys Motel
A 2- to 3-day-old baby girl was found abandoned in a Van Nuys motel room Thursday after the motel manager heard her cries, Los Angeles police said.
The girl was found wrapped in a blanket on a bed in the Chateau Motel, in the 6700 block of Sepulveda Boulevard, Officer Lillia Padilla said.
The manager called police about 4 p.m. after looking through the room’s window and seeing the baby alone, she said.
The baby appeared to have been left alone for about two to three hours, she said.
The infant was taken by police officers to Valley Hospital Medical Center in Van Nuys, where a doctor declared her to be in good health, Padilla said.
“She’s a good baby,” Padilla said. “The only time she cried is when they took blood for a blood test.”
