LAGUNA HILLS : Honig Picks Senior for Senate Program

Laguna Hills High School senior Sharon Oh was selected by state Schools Supt. Bill Honig Thursday to serve as one of two California delegates to the 1990 U.S. Senate Youth Program next month in Washington.

Oh, who is student body secretary, will join 103 other student body officers nationwide for a week of study of the federal government and, in particular, the U.S. Senate. Each delegate will also receive a $2,000 college scholarship, funded by the William Randolph Hearst Corp.

Oh has a grade-point average of 4.38 and is ranked 10th in her class of 364. She is an officer of Students Against Drunk Driving and is a member of the Key, French and Math clubs, the Christa McAuliffe Science Program and the California Scholastic Federation.

The other California delegate is Nathan Humphrey of Woodcrest Christian School in Riverside. Nathalie Mizushima, a student at Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo, was selected as an alternate.
