NATION IN BRIEF : WASHINGTON STATE : Ex-Husband Kills Family, Then Self

An Air Force employee killed his former wife, their two daughters and the woman’s new husband in their home in Spanaway, Wash., and then shot himself, days after agreeing to give up his right to visit the girls, officials said. The gunman, identified as Ron Burris, had been accused in court papers filed earlier this week of molesting the older of the couple’s two daughters for several years. Burris apparently shattered the rear sliding glass door at his former home, then walked through the house shooting the four victims, Pierce County Sheriff’s Deputy Curt Benson said. Burris left a suicide note in his pickup truck, but police officials refused to disclose its contents.
