Puppet Shows for Children Return to Library

The downtown Los Angeles Public Library, now settled into its new Spring Street location, has resumed its Saturday morning puppet shows for children. The 10-year tradition returned to the library a few months ago with hourlong get-togethers for children ages 2 to 12.

Today at 11 a.m., it’s “How Rudolph Saved Christmas.” The puppet show will be followed by storytelling. The librarians will also talk about the children’s literature room’s recent acquisitions so that show-goers will have first crack at the new books.

After the show, everyone is invited to browse the children’s literature room on the first floor. The librarians will bring out their puppets and youngsters may play with them.

Next Saturday, there will be a tree-trimming party after the puppet show “The Purple Necked Black Bearded Blatch.”

The library’s new address is 433 S. Spring St. Saturday library hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On Saturdays, parking is $3. Information: (213) 612-3261.
