Patchy Groundfog Scores Win Over Oraibi in Feature Race

Patchy Groundfog overtook 9-5 favorite Oraibi deep in the stretch Thursday to win the $45,000 feature race at Hollywood Park by one length before a crowd of 10,303.

Patchy Groundfog, ridden by Corey Black, covered one mile on Hollywood Park’s turf course in 1:34 1/5 and paid $6.80, $3.20 and $2.60.

Oraibi, ridden by Laffit Pincay, crossed the finish line three-quarters of a length in front of Bon Vent and returned $3 and $2.40.

Bon Vent, ridden by Gary Stevens, returned $3.20 to show.

Oraibi led all the way until being caught and passed by Patchy Groundfog.
